News from Jesse about his new album, which is out now!
Greetings, friends!
Vertigo, my new album on Present Sounds Recordings, is officially out
and available. This is the culmination of a couple years’ worth of
work by an ensemble that didn’t perform a huge amount — but made good
music when we did.
The album contains music composed by me and improvised by members of
the group. I think the album is pretty unique — sedate, dark in
places, and lyrical. Perfect for our cloudy autumn days.
“Long Walk,” one of the tunes on the album, is currently featured in
Jack Straw’s Artist of the Week podcast, listenable here:

The album itself can be purchased at CDBaby via the Present Sounds website:

The group is Chris Stover, trombone; Joanne de Mars, cello; Tom Baker,
guitar; and Jesse Canterbury, clarinets. Unfortunately, a full half
of the band no longer lives in Seattle — Chris now lives in NYC and
Joanne resides in San Francisco. I’m not sure what future direction
this music may have, but I’m very happy and proud to have documented
the work we did.
